RICE PUDDING (CHAWAL KI PHIRNI)


THE RECIPE FOR RICE PUDDING OR CHAWAL KI PHIRNI










INGREDIENTS



1.        Rice powder                                     1/2 kg

2.        Full cream milk                                1/2 litre

3.        Condensed Milk                              1/2 can

4.        Saffron {Kesar }                               a few strands soaked in rose water

5.        Cardamon {Elaichi} powder          1/2 tsp

6.        Almond {Badam} slivers                2 tbsp


METHOD


Boil milk in a pan. Add rice powder stirring continuously to avoid formation of lumps. After some time, add almond slivers and continue stirring. Once the mixture thickens, Remove from fire and pour out in earthen pots (kulhars). Top it with saffron soaked in rose water and cardamom powder. Serve chilled.
