Wood Apple Squash (Bel Ka Sharbat )
Wood Apple or Golden Apple Squash (Bel Ka Sharbat ) is a delicious and healthy summer drink. It is believed to possess a large number of medicinal properties. Parts of the wood apple tree, for instance, leaves, roots, bark, etc, are used in preparation of Ayurvedic medicines for treating certain diseases.
Ingredients
1. Wood apple (Bel) - One number
2. Sugar (powdered) - 1.5 tbsp or according to taste
3. Black salt - 1 tbsp
4. Cumin seeds (roasted)-1 tsp
Method
Wash and cut a ripe wood apple (Bel). Place the pulp in a bowl and add a cup of water. Keep aside for some time. Mash the mixture properly and then sieve. Drain in a jug full of crushed ice. Mix in sugar, black salt and top it with roasted cumin seeds. Serve chilled.
