Cricket 2011: The great Indian debacle

The most eagerly awaited cricket series of the decade between India and England has proven to be a damp squib. In the ongoing series, England are well on course to a clean sweep, having taken an unassailable 3-0 lead. In the process, India have been dethroned from the number one ranking in test cricket.

The mighty Indian batting line up has been made to look ordinary and extremely brittle. Bowling  as always is pedestrian. All in all team India looks jaded, bored, disinterested and inadequate. English cricketers look hungry for success and raring to go.

Unless the Indians show the fighting spirit which made them the top ranked team around 2 years back, they could well face a 4-0 whitewash. If Sehwag regains his flamboyance, Sachin his class, Dravid his solidity and Laxman his elegance then their is still something to look  forward to for the Indian fan. Otherwise, along with the number one ranking will go the teams  reputation.

PS: can India win the fourth test and make it 3-1. Better still can we make it a clean sweep in the one day series.
