KALAKAND

Kalakand made simple. This is a  very easy to make recipe of Kalakand using Khoya, Petha, dryfruits, etc.   Surprise your brother with this delicious Mithai  on Rakhi. Bon-appetit.


Ingredients

1. Khoya ( plain - unsweetened)   -  500 gms
2. Sweet Petha (dry variety)  - 250 gms
3. Powder of 3-4 Green Cardamom Seeds
4. Flaked Almonds & Pistachios  - 2 tbsp

Method

Grate Petha & Khoya separately. Place grated Petha  in a wok. Add just enough water to cover it.  Cook on slow fire stirring occasionally.  After a while,  bubbles appear.  Cook upto 3 thread consistency. Put grated Khoya & stir till the mixture leaves sides of the wok. Fold in   Cardamom  powder & remove from fire.  Spread this mixture evenly on a greased plate. Top with flaked Almonds & Pistachios when semi set. Cut into diamond/square  shaped pieces when fully set.
