MARZIPAN
Ingredients
1. Cashewnuts or Almonds ground into powder- 1 kg
2. Sugar-1/2 kg or according to taste
3. Almond essence- 2 to 3 drops
4. Glucose- 1 tsp
5. Water
6. Cornflour

Method
Dissolve Glucose in
water and keep aside. Melt sugar in pan containing water. Add liquid
Glucose and let the mixture boil. Once sugar is properly melted add Cashewnut
or Almond powder (as the case may be) and mix well. Stir continuously till the mixture leaves sides of
the pan. Finally, add almond essence and remove from fire. Drop some Cornflour
on a flat tray and spread the mixture evenly. Leave aside to cool. Cut
into pieces and serve.
PS: Kids particularly love eating small coloured figurines
like that of fruits and animals made from Marzipan. This can be done by adding
appropriate food colour to the Marzipan mixture and moulding it into desired
shapes.
