MOTICHOOR LADDUS
INGREDIENTS:
Besan (Gram Flour)- 1 cup
Sugar- 1 cup (or as per taste)
Salt- A pinch
Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter)- for frying
Water- 2 cups
Lemon Slice
Cardamon powder- 1/4 tsp
Water melon seeds- 1 tsp
Chopped pista- 1 tbsp
Method:
Put Besan in a bowl and add a pinch of Salt. Pour in water and mix well. Make sure there are no lumps. The mixture should be of flowing consistency. Keep aside for about 10 minutes. Separately, heat Desi Ghee in a wok. Check the Besan mixture; if required add some water to ensure that the mixture is of flowing consistency. Once the Ghee is hot drop in little balls of besan using a grater or a perforated spoon, in the Ghee. Fry the Boondi properly. Remove from Ghee and place it on a tissue paper so that excess Ghee is absorbed.
Take a Pan and add the Sugar. Pour in one cup of Water. Let the mixture boil and then add the Lemon slice. Cook till the Sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens a little. Add Cardamom powder and mix. Then, lower the flame and add the Boondi and mix well. Cook for around 4-5 minutes on low flame stirring occasionally. Switch off the gas and leave the mixture covered in the pan for about 20 minutes. Thereafter, add Water melon seeds and Pistas and mix. Take out the mixture in another bowl. Shape into Laddus and store in an air tight container.
